“Embracing the future of the nation” was the theme of the day as the Mogalakwena Municipality Mayor, Her Worship Cllr Andrina Matsemela was this morning donating school uniform to the needy learners from Mabuela Ramorulana Primary School.
Mayor Matsemela donated 10 pairs of shoes, shirts, trousers, skirts & pairs of socks to deserving learners from disadvantaged backgrounds.
“We don’t want a situation where our children would go to school bare footed, wearing takkies or gumboots. They are the future of our country. Education is everybody’s responsibility,” said Mayor Matsemela.
“I am confident that this donation will make a difference to the lives of these kids. I’m donating these uniform because I want to show these kids that being poor is not the end of the world,” added Mayor Matsemela.
Mayor Matsemela urged learners to respect parents, educators, members of the community and listen attentively at school and home so they can be better people in life.
School Principal said he was grateful to the generous Mayor for helping the kids.
“I am so happy because the donation will motivate our kids to do well in their studies,” said school principal.
