The Provincial Tracking Team have followed the remaining suspects who fled the scene during this incident where a special joint operation was conducted at Chebeng village in the Seshego Policing area outside Polokwane in the early hours of this morning and two suspects aged 26 and 31 years were arrested.

During the arrest, the following were recovered:

  • One illegal 9mm firearm with one magazine and 9 live ammunition.
  • 16 station signal jammers.

During this operation, in a separate development, another suspect aged 38 years was arrested and one firearm with four living rounds was recovered at Luthuli park outside Polokwane.

This suspect was involved in a series of house robbery incidents in and around Polokwane.

The foiled cash in transit robbery suspects will appear in both Seshego and Mokopane Magistrate Courts respectfully soon and the house robberies suspect will appear before the Polokwane Magistrate Court soon as well.

The two suspects who were arrested during this matter have appeared before the Mokopane Magistrate Court and they remained in custody with no bail until the 05-05-2017 for further Police investigations.

The Joint Special Operation composed of various Police Units have made a major breakthrough on Saturday the 01-04-2017 along the road outside Mokopane when they Foiled a Cash-In-Transit robbery.

The Police have reacted swiftly upon receiving information from members of the community and upon arrival at the scene, they pulled over a White Ford Ranger and during that process, a shoot-out ensued between the Police and the suspects whereby two suspects were killed and one was seriously injured.

During this incident, the following were recovered:

  • 1x R5 Rifle
  • 2x 9mmm pistols
  • 1x Ford Ranger hijacked in Westernburg outside Polokwane.
