Exxaro Grootegeluk Mine has shown its commitment to the wellbeing of its female
employees by launching an emergency kit initiative. As part of the Women’s Month
celebrations in August, all female staff received kits with essential sanitary items, and new
employees will receive theirs when they join the mine.
These kits are especially useful in the mining environment, where long shifts and remote
locations can make it difficult to access feminine products. To support this, Exxaro has also
installed vending machines at the mine, making it easier for women to refill their kits when
needed.
This initiative reflects Exxaro’s ongoing effort to create a caring work environment. By
addressing the needs of their female employees, Exxaro is improving health, reducing
absenteeism, and supporting a stronger, healthier workforce.
