January has many scrapping for their last cents and just trying to get to their next pay cheque but The Maira Foundation founders are instead embracing the spirit of giving. Founders Philip Maira, Lazola Malala and Linius Mashaba launched their foundation on the 18th of January at the Palm Park hotel.

The aim of the launch was to inform people about their services and invite stakeholders to join in on the giving. Opening the launch, Philip Maira said that anything born out of love has the tendency to grow. “This is a foundation that will change people’s lives, despite the finances, we believe that God will see it through. If you put your time to best things, you will be greatly rewarded, added Maira.

The Maira Foundation is a non-profit company that provides a wide range of services to children, families and communities across South Africa and outlying areas. The society is in existence for many years, the organization’s core service is to protect children who are at risk. The foundation aims to alleviate poverty and administer early childhood development.

The Maira Foundation services includes food supply, toiletries, educational support, clothes supply, skills development and community development.

The founder’s plea is that people come together in extending help to the less fortunate. They explained that the help does not have to be in monetary value and that even giving time will be appreciated.
